Suggested by Kir Kanos in another thread:

Sure, I don't see why that can't go in the 'News' section. - it'll help populate new content.

I was having a look at other Garrison websites and comparing their layouts and the information they provided to the public.

I found a few things that are really interesting, some of the ideas they have might be applicable to our Garrison.
  • Alpine Garrison has a lot of interesting ideas.
  • I like both the Star Wars and 501st Legion News scrolling text.
  • I like the Newest Users list. The Top Posters count I do not like it reminds me of TAG costume list "saying, Hey look at me".
  • Instead of just having a Public Relations link that generates an email are there any plans to have a more specific template like either Alpine Garrison or Dune Sea Garrison Request An Appearance or 70th Explorer Garrison Event Request Form.
  • I really like the use of Youtube on the main page of the 70th Explorer Garrison. it would be twice as cool if we could get Weird Al in concert Wink
  • There are two other things that I like about the Dune Sea Garrison which are their Frequently Asked Question and their HOLOBLOG which shows off their costume build threads.

Koodge, with TAG I know there was a setting that if you click view new posts it ranked EVERY post in order of posting but here I can only get it to sort them in order since I last visited. Do you know how I can sort ALL the posts in order newest to oldest ?

I use Todays Posts, rather than View New..... It lists in order last used and still highlights the threads youve not yet looked at since new data was added by anyone

cant get to ahead of ourselves though. we have things in the works that im sure you will all hear about in the Very soon, but main focus atm is getting everyone settled in and getting things running smoothly.

even i agree there is some nice features on some of those sites.

I wasn't suggesting getting ahead of ourselves, just some ideas for the future we may want to consider down the track. Wink
