Half size does seem to flow better. Smile

RE: Improvements to creating posts. - Mr Giant - 07-07-2013

concur. the one you have now looks strung out abit too much.

RE: Improvements to creating posts. - arcticfox - 08-07-2013

truth Wink

well, then its my unprofessional and unqualified opinion that the height definitely be restricted in some form automatically

i doubt the restriction would come from the upload size, as i could still make a huge one at low file size - better if we could tell the forum to hold the area at a fixed maxim of 90-100 pixels.....the width im not sure can be done the same way, but i could be wrong.

aside from that, it could be backed up by posting a "suggested restriction" for banner size, and/or text character limit. my suggestion here is as MrGiants in size, 80x450 - 90x500 or so
- artistically it neednt be restricted in any way but for political correctness and socially acceptable content Wink
(ill redo your banner tomorrow MrGiant, and make it better balanced visually)

optionally offer up a half dozen "themed bases" for anyone whom doesnt want to try their hand at one

end of the day, its really only an expression of a members self - some will leave it blank, some a few words of interest or meaning, and some to help make things purdy. each to their own, non?

Purdy is relative to the poster.

RE: Improvements to creating posts. - arcticfox - 08-07-2013

indeed it is, good sir!

- if the SDG Command Staff is interested, and would like me to, i can happily render a version for their use.

just email or PM me a nice head and shoulders shot Wink

To nice sire.

RE: Improvements to creating posts. - Mr Giant - 08-07-2013

that would be nice Smile
Only reason i want something is because when i post on other forums, i want to be proud of what i have there.
While my original one was amusing, i dont think many on the legion boards would get the job.

thanks again Mr Fox!

From a quick look over the forum settings you can limit the character length and number of images for the signatures, but not img dimensions, so I'll leave it to Koodge to look into/comment.

It'll probably just be more of if you're SIG is too big, you'll be asked to resize it or have it removed by the mods.

Love the banner theme you guys have done so I better get me one. Fox or Giant can you help me out ? maybe we could have it as a standard banner for all users with the size that we require.

Well, I thought I'd fixed it to 160 x 560 but it seems to have broken Huh

Can we settle on a size? I kinda like Mr Giant's (most recent Tongue ) one - just wondering if the cheesegrater background is a little too much like RBG - ???

hmmm...interesting. Certainly not straight forward coding-wise...I'll look into it Smile
